Very excited! But a bit out of my depth, I feel like you see content from peoples weddings that's so beautiful and it's hard to know how you can manage to pull that off when you know nothing about the industry! I didn't have a wedding planner and we only had 8-9months to plan the day so I tried not to overthink it and go with my gut (which was a GREAT call).

An insight into Katie and Hugh's journey into the world of wedding photography (from Katie's POV). From their initial thoughts and fears, to their on-the-day experience and seeing the final results.

How did you feel when you first started researching wedding photographers?

What were your biggest concerns about wedding photography, and how did that influence your choice?

Hugh and I both don't love being in front of the camera, but we value the memories of photos and video footage, especially when we travel. So we really wanted to choose someone who had a true candid style, because we knew we wouldn't want to stand around and pose for long periods of time. 

It was brilliant! I honestly hadn't even thought to tidy up the house properly before you got there and so we just threw a few bunches of leftover flowers around and hung the dress up- and you didn't bat an eyelid. So friendly but also a true professional. 

My honest first impression was when we were taking photos of me in my dress at my parents house and the content creator suggested we move my dad's antique scales out of the frame, and you just said "no leave them, it's capturing the home beautifully". And I just thought that was the best thing ever, because I wanted to get ready at my parents home for that exact reason and the images you captured were so beautiful and real in that way. 

The rest of the day was just a lot of fun I'd say, Hugh and I felt comfortable and you directed us into moments (like the golden sunset) to get the shots you knew would be amazing. 

How was your experience working with me (Scott) on your wedding day?

We were blown away! Not only by how you captured us / our guests, but also by how you captured the landscape and setting. Gerringong is a very special place to us and for example the photos down at the boat ramp just turned out so breathtaking. 
It was impossible to choose a favourite, and we felt like we were able to relive the joy of the day so easily. 

How would you describe your reaction when you first saw your wedding photos?

Would you recommend my services to others, and why?

I certainly would! Especially for people who want to focus on the love / joy of a wedding day and not worry about the content that comes after. I would recommend you because you let everything flow the way we wanted and brought such amazing energy without making us feel at all nervous. And then the results were breathtaking, photos we will adore for the rest of our life!
