Mona Farm is one of those rare places where everything feels intentional — from the gardens and air to the sense of calm that settles over you the moment you arrive.
The scale. The gardens. The way the air feels different the moment you arrive.
It’s grand, refined, sophisticated — and at the same time, deeply grounding. A place where couples instantly relax, slow down, and settle into the experience of the day.
I’m Scott — a Sydney-based wedding photographer who has photographed multiple weddings at Mona Farm and would happily shoot there every week if I could. It’s hands down one of my favourite wedding venues in Australia.
There’s an energy at Mona Farm that’s hard to put into words.
The English-inspired gardens are immaculate and constantly evolving. Birds singing, fresh air, sculptures scattered through the landscape, a dam reflecting the light — everywhere you look, there’s space and beauty. It feels intentional. Considered. Alive.
Couples often describe feeling free when they’re there. Many couples travel from Canberra, Sydney and beyond to celebrate here — it’s one of Regional New South Wales’ most sought-after wedding destinations.
Surrounded by so much beauty, nerves soften, shoulders drop, and the day takes on a calm confidence. The whole property seems to buzz and come alive when a wedding is happening.
I’ve photographed multiple weddings at Mona Farm, including the very first wedding held there, and have more coming up in the seasons ahead.
It’s the number one venue in my Regional NSW venue guide for a reason.
From a photography perspective, the opportunities are endless. The scale of the property means no two weddings ever feel the same. The gardens change with the seasons, the light shifts hour by hour, and there’s always something new to respond to.
Spring is a personal favourite, when the gardens are truly singing, but Mona Farm is beautiful year-round. The light can be soft and dramatic within the gardens, while the open fields turn golden as the sun dips — sometimes with a few Highland cows wandering quietly through the paddocks.
My approach never really changes — people first, always.
What Mona Farm offers is time. Time to observe. Time to respond to the light. Time to choose locations intentionally rather than rushing.
While it might be tempting to try and photograph every corner of the property, the reality is that you don’t need to. The most meaningful images come from choosing a few locations you love and being there when the light is right.
Before the day, I’ll always chat with couples about their favourite spots and what matters most to them. On the day itself, I work intuitively — balancing portrait time with the natural flow of the celebration, so you’re never away from your guests for too long.
As incredible as the location is, it always comes back to the same thing for me: connection, emotion, reactions — just set within a very special place.
Because Mona Farm draws couples who care deeply about how their day feels and looks, the approach I take here feels natural and intuitive.
Mona Farm tends to attract couples who are refined but relaxed. Intentional. Thoughtful.
They appreciate beauty, nature, and design, but they also want to feel comfortable and at ease on their wedding day. Many care deeply about photography — not just how it looks, but how it feels to be photographed.
They choose their vendors carefully, valuing people they genuinely want to spend the day with, and they trust those people to help shape an experience that feels considered and personal.

“Having Scott photograph our wedding at Mona Farm was one of the best decisions we made. It honestly felt like we had known Scott forever and he captured all the little details and silly moments so beautifully. I had some pretty wild photo ideas and Scott leaned into the weirdness perfectly.”
— Kelly & John
“If you’re searching for a wedding photographer, look no further. From our very first call, Scott’s calm, practical and honest approach made us feel completely at ease - and even helped us shape a day that felt right for us.
On the day at Mona Farm, his presence was seamless, relaxed and genuinely fun. We wanted candid moments and to spend time with our guests, and somehow Scott captured everything - it honestly felt like there were five of him. The photos took our breath away.
You will not regret working with Scott.”
