If you’re planning a wedding in Sydney, chances are your day won’t happen in just one place.
Getting ready at home. A ceremony somewhere meaningful. A short drive, a ferry ride, or a walk through the city before celebrating into the night.
Sydney weddings move — and that movement shapes how the day feels.
There’s a natural rhythm to weddings here. Old sandstone and modern architecture. Quiet moments tucked between busy streets. Harbour views giving way to candlelit rooms. When you allow the day to unfold without forcing it, Sydney has a way of rewarding you with moments that feel honest and alive.
I’m Scott — a Sydney-based wedding photographer with over fifteen years’ experience photographing weddings across the city. My approach is natural, calm, and story-driven, focused less on posing and more on how the day actually feels.
Sydney is a city of contrast — and that’s exactly what makes weddings here so special.
A single day can hold softness and energy, intimacy and scale, calm and movement. You might be surrounded by people and still feel deeply present. You might be in the middle of the city and feel completely removed from it.
Couples often choose Sydney because it allows their wedding to reflect real life — layered, meaningful, and personal. The best Sydney weddings don’t rush or over-schedule. They create space. And in that space, the moments tend to find you.
Over the years, the weddings I’ve photographed in Sydney have been featured in publications including Vogue, The Lane, Together Journal, Harper’s Bazaar, Hello May, and ELLE.
I don’t approach a wedding any differently because of that — but it does reflect the kind of days I’m drawn to: thoughtful celebrations where connection matters more than performance, and where the experience of the day is just as important as how it looks.
Sydney weddings don’t suit rigid timelines or constant direction — and that’s where my approach fits naturally.
I work in a documentary style, stepping in only when needed and giving you room to be yourselves. That usually means:
Minimal posing
Short, intentional portrait sessions
Plenty of breathing room in the timeline
Staying connected to your guests
Rather than pulling you away from the day, I aim to move with it — quietly observing, anticipating moments, and creating images that feel natural and unforced.
Because no two Sydney weddings unfold the same way, my role isn’t to control the day — it’s to pay attention.

Jess & Sean - Audley, NSW
A deeply emotional family celebration shaped by unexpected weather, golden light, and a moment that brought everyone closer together.
Sophie & Victoria - WIllie The Boatman, NSW
A relaxed inner-west brewery wedding — intimate moments, heartfelt speeches, and a dance floor that carried the night.
Lani & Nick - Dunes, NSW
A calm, joyful Dunes at Palm Beach wedding — effortless moments, golden light, and a celebration built around connection and presence.
How much time do we actually need for photos in Sydney?
Less than most couples think. I prefer short, intentional photo sessions that fit naturally into the flow of the day. This keeps things relaxed and means you spend more time with your guests — which is often what couples value most.
Can you help us with our wedding timeline?
Yes. Especially for Sydney weddings, where travel and logistics matter, I regularly help couples shape timelines that feel realistic and calm rather than rushed or over-structured.
We’re worried about feeling awkward in photos — is that a problem?
Not at all. Most of the couples I work with feel this way. My approach doesn’t rely on heavy posing, which allows people to relax into the experience rather than perform for the camera.
Do you work with videographers and planners?
Absolutely. I’m very used to collaborating with other vendors and fitting seamlessly into a wider team to keep the day flowing smoothly.
What if the weather changes?
Weather shifts are part of getting married in Sydney. I work comfortably in all conditions and focus on keeping things flexible so the photos still feel natural and true to the day.
Do you only photograph weddings in Sydney?
No — I travel frequently for weddings across NSW, Australia, and overseas. Many couples get married in Sydney and celebrate elsewhere, or vice versa.
